Why we built an offline kids app with no ads

A quieter product can create more space for learning—and more confidence for parents.

Attention should belong to the child

Ads pull children away from the activity they chose and often lead to places they cannot understand. We wanted every tap in LingoSprout to have a clear learning purpose, so the app contains no advertising.

There are no child accounts, social feeds, or analytics SDKs in the learning experience either. Less infrastructure means fewer distractions and fewer questions about where a child’s information goes.

Offline is a family feature

Families learn in cars, waiting rooms, airplanes, and homes with uneven connections. Core activities and progress live on the device, so a dropped signal does not interrupt a small moment of concentration.

The only intentional network use is the platform purchase or restore flow when a grown-up chooses Premium.

Simple promises are easier to trust

Privacy language should match the product plainly: no ads, no accounts, progress on device. We would rather build trust with a small set of understandable choices than ask parents to decode a long list of exceptions.
